Favorite game :)

måndag, januari 29th, 2007

He’s kicking harder and harder, his favorite kicking game is to place his feet on my lower ribs and kind of “slide off”.

We went to see his grandfather to be (I hadn’t seen my father in a very long time) and it was touching. Dad put his hands on my belly and tried to feel him kicking, but I told him that baby was asleep and that he wakes up around 10pm and usually is up during the night. My father (who has larynx cancer and no longer can talk) smiled with pride and pointed to himself, “he’s a night owl, just like me”.

Iron and work

torsdag, januari 18th, 2007

I’m low on iron. It didn’t come as a suprise, and I am being treated for it, I’ve been taking extra iron during the last week.

Wednesday I almost fainted on my way to work, the subway was delayed and I had to stand on the platform for 15 minutes. It was hard, I felt weak, and noone would make room for me to sit down. At last the train came and I got on, thinking that everything would be ok once I did. Well, it wasn’t. I grew more and more ill, and even though I thought “just one more station and maybe it’ll pass” I finally decided on getting off the train and return home. I called in sick, I hate doing that, but I guess I have to embrace the fact that I am now responsible not only for me but also for the little one I always carry with me, and right there and then going home was the most sensible thing to do.

I’m feeling better now though :)

Signed papers

måndag, januari 15th, 2007

If the Swedish parents to be aren’t married, the father has to sign a bunch of papers that says that he really is the father of the child. We(I) wanted this done before we have the child, if something happens to me when delivering him. I read about a mother who died when giving birth and since the father hadn’t signed those papers there were problems with Social Services, since they didn’t know for sure if he was the father. This is the last problem I want D to have if something should happen to me, so now we’ve signed the papers and he is officially and legally the father of our child :)

25 weeks, time passes so fast

fredag, januari 12th, 2007

We had a checkup yesterday and I need to start taking iron supplements. Everything looked fine other than that, my blood sugar level and blood pressure were ok and baby’s heart rate around 150 bpm. My tummy is growing, and I’m in the upper part of the normal range.

I sometimes call him “karate kid” since he at times kicks so hard that it shows on the outside :)
